We hear a lot these days about ‘bespoke’.

The term has long been used by tailors, but it’s now applied to many items, including kitchens and software. Of course, before mass production many more items were custom made, but in recent years the word ‘bespoke’ has taken on a new momentum.

It’s still a rarity in the world of watches, perhaps because there are so many excellent mass produced ones. Yet, beautiful as so many are, they are identical to thousands of others. A local clairvoyant used to hold his clients’ watches during readings. He maintained that something so closely worn and intimate helped his fortune telling, but perhaps bespoke timepieces would have given him even deeper insights!

Harold Pinchbeck is one of very few watchmakers to offer a bespoke service. Of course, none of our watches are mass produced, but a watch such as the Christopher, or the Rossamon, is built in a particular way, and we will help you to choose from a wide variety of features and finishes to create a truly lovely watch. Whether it’s to celebrate an event, an achievement or an anniversary - or just for the sheer pleasure of owning something so special - it will be completely personal to you: a limited edition of one!

Your bespoke watch can be as discreet or as bold as you like. It can even have a personalised dial. Whatever your choices, this timepiece will be a unique, miniature work of art. It will surely be one of your most stylish – and treasured - possessions.

Commissioning such a watch is a fascinating process, and part of the bespoke experience, so we aim to make it as enjoyable as possible. Consult with us by phone or email – or, better still, at a personal meeting in Lincolnshire or London. We will only start work when the specification has been agreed. Some parts may have to be created specially, so delivery often takes several months, but the best things in life are worth waiting for!
