WHERE CAN I BUY A HAROLD PINCHBECK WATCH?

We welcome potential Customers to visit us by appointment in Lincoln. Over refreshments in a charming medieval building we will show you examples of our watches, and discuss any bespoke options. Our watches are made in small numbers. This means that it is not practical for retailers to stock them, so we deal direct with our Customers. There are several advantages to this approach: it allows us to make bespoke watches, and, because our prices are not inflated by retail margins, our watches are excellent value.

HOW CAN I VIEW YOUR WATCHES BEFORE BUYING?

We welcome potential Customers to visit us by appointment in Lincoln. Over refreshments in a charming medieval building we will show you examples of our watches, and discuss any bespoke options, without obligation. We can usually offer appointments on weekdays (not at weekends) and would ask you to book by telephone or email, with at least a week's notice.

We appreciate that it may not be convenient for you to visit us, so we offer a 90 day 'no quibble' guarantee on watches without bespoke features. This enables you to buy a watch and try it on in the comfort of your own home without any risk. If, for any reason, you are less than satisfied, we will rectify the watch, exchange it or give you a full refund. Watches must be returned in new and unused condition and we will deduct from any refund or credit the delivery charge, and an appropriate amount in respect of any damage, wear and tear, engraving, and any non-standard features.*

Special terms apply to Bespoke watches and to watches with bespoke features, as they are made to individual order. If you are thinking of commissioning one of these watches we offer a VIP service, by appointment, in Lincoln. Over refreshments we will discuss your requirements and show you examples, without obligation. Because these are bespoke watches, the 90 day guarantee of satisfaction does not apply, and orders are accepted on this condition (they do, of course, carry our normal 5 year warranty). However, we will, of course, work to ensure your complete satisfaction in the unlikely event that you are not completely happy with your watch as delivered.

WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF YOUR WATCHES?

Prices range from £999 to over £4999 for watches with stainless steel cases, although special features such as individual dial designs and precious metal cases cost more. Please ask for further information.

WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME?

Delivery time for watches without bespoke features is normally around two weeks. Bespoke watches take at least three months, and sometimes longer, depending on the amount of bespoke work. We will always try to deliver by a particular date, so please ask if you need your watch for a special event.

HOW AND WHERE ARE THE WATCHES MADE?

All our watches are individually hand-built in our workshops in England, and thoroughly inspected and tested before delivery. We use fine Swiss made movements. We work with small precision engineering companies to ensure that as many components as possible are British made.

CAN YOU DELIVER OVERSEAS?

Yes, unless it is to one of the few countries to which an insured courier service is not available. The cost of delivery will be added to your order. In certain countries you may have to pay import duty or other taxes: we recommend that you check before ordering, as we cannot accept any liability for such charges.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QUARTZ AND AUTOMATIC MOVEMENTS

Quartz movements are very accurate, and are powered by a battery that typically lasts up to two years. The watch should only need adjusting when the clocks change, and when there are fewer than 31 days in the month. Automatic movements are mechanically driven, and kept wound by natural wrist movement, although they can also be wound manually. They are accurate to within a few seconds per day. If not worn or moved the watch will stop after a day or two and will need resetting. The seconds hand has an attractive, smooth, 'sweeping' movement. Automatic movements should be serviced regularly, about every three years.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY WATCH?

Most watches may be ordered and paid for direct from our website, or by telephone or email. For Bespoke watches we ask for a non-refundable deposit at the time of ordering, with the balance being payable immediately before delivery. We welcome payment by most debit or credit cards, cheque or bank transfer.

WHAT GUARANTEE DO THE WATCHES HAVE?

If your Harold Pinchbeck watch fails to work, or to keep good time, because of manufacturing defect within five years of purchase from new, we will repair it free of charge upon receipt at our Lincoln address.

Leather straps, being made from organic material, are guaranteed for one year.

The warranty will become invalid if the watch is opened by anyone other than ourselves or our agents.

The costs of delivery to our premises, and of return shipping and duties payable outside the UK, are not covered. Please email us before returning a watch from outside the UK. We cannot accept any responsibility for import tax or duty on items returned from outside the UK.

WHAT IS THE LIFETIME GUARANTEE?

When you buy a Bespoke watch (ie The Bespoke, the Chelsea Reach, the SS100/101) we guarantee its movement for your lifetime.

The only condition is that you return the watch to us for a service at least every three years. In fact, the first such service will be free. Although subsequent servicing will be chargeable, it will contribute to your watch’s long life through cleaning, lubrication and replacement of any worn parts, lubrication and testing.
