LINCOLN | Artist meets watchmaker
We’re very proud to announce our forthcoming timepiece: the Lincoln watch, which we have been perfecting for several months, and which will be available soon. It will be a limited edition: no more than 50 will be made, and each one will be individually numbered and certified. In designing the Lincoln, we wanted it to be more than just another quality example of British watchmaking, but a ‘small object of great desire’; something truly different. Its inspiration comes from the city and county of Lincoln, where we are based, as a tribute to our heritage and values as independent watchmakers: its appeal will be to anyone who loves beautiful watches and fine art.
The Lincoln watch is distinctive in many ways. For example, the dial subtly reproduces the flowing tracery of the famous Bishop’s Eye window in our iconic, neighbouring, Lincoln Cathedral, as well as the fleur-de-lys (at the 6 o’clock position).
However, what makes this watch even more special is the artwork it includes, encapsulated under glass on the caseback: a unique marriage of watchmaking and art. At the outset we had the idea to approach renowned artist Dominic Parczuk, who is well known for his beautiful Lincolnshire landscapes. Dominic understood our vision, and created this new, original painting to be exclusive to the Lincoln watch project. In fact, each watch will come complete with a 10” x 8” print, personally signed by the artist. Each watch and print will be identically numbered: individually attractive but also creating a compelling, complementary duo.

Dominic Parczuk’s atmospheric oil paintings are increasingly sought-after. Well-known in Lincolnshire, Dominic grew up in Lincoln, attending Priory LSST. His foundation art studies were in Lincoln, before further studies in art and design in London, at Central Saint Martin’s College. He eventually moved back to Lincoln to work full time as an artist. He is also a talented violinist, and plays as a freelance when time permits.
In 2016-17 he was Artist-in-Residence at Lincoln Cathedral, his time there culminating in an exhibition in the Chapter House, and in June 2019 he completed an equally successful residency at Doddington Hall.
Dominic writes, ‘My work is loose, not over thought and often spontaneous and of the moment, impressionistic in style. I’m inspired by how light creates atmosphere and enjoy sketching people in a simplistic sketchy manner’.
It has been exciting to work with Dominic on the Lincoln watch, a unique concept uniting his evocative artwork with the skills of watchmaking. You can see more of his work at www.dominicparczuk.com
