Watchmaking: science, or a work of art?

The answer is, of course, both. Your watch is a marvel of mechanical engineering, based on centuries of experience and innovation. Equally, like the clothes you wear, it’s a statement, and a reflection of your unique personality.

At Harold Pinchbeck we take these principles a little further. Not only will your special timepiece be exclusive, perhaps one of a limited edition: it can even include artwork. For example, we commissioned original art for the Orpheus, so that each timepiece tells a story, marrying the artist’s creation to the watchmaker’s craftsmanship.

Our watches are designed in-house and hand-assembled in our English workshop. This approach is true to our 300-year heritage, yet firmly grounded in 21st Century style. We deal direct with our customers, to ensure the best possible service.

From the craftsmen we work with to the materials we use, we employ only the best. With proper care your watch will last a lifetime and beyond, whether it is one of our current models or a one-off bespoke piece commissioned by you.

At every step of your purchase we will work with you to be sure you are happy. We aim to make your buying experience is one of the best, and one that you will cherish just as you do your new Pinchbeck watch.

‘‘More than just a watch is more than just a slogan at Harold Pinchbeck.’’

It’s a recognition that a good watch is a very personal possession: a small object of desire that isn’t only a means of telling the time. Whether as a gift to yourself or a loved one, your Harold Pinchbeck watch can also tell a story. This might be the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, or perhaps a milestone or achievement in your own life or career.

Our watches have helped to celebrate many occasions, and they endure for years after the event itself, becoming treasured companions. Some models incorporate special artwork, while others include discreet personalisation.

We think you’ll agree that the inclusion of these features brings an extra dimension to a watch: an approach that very few watchmakers offer at any price and that sets your Harold Pinchbeck apart from other timepieces.

‘‘I was anticipating something quite special, and this has more than fulfilled my expectations. It is satisfyingly neat, readable, and has an overall aesthetic that reminds me of a dial from a classic car. Many thanks for creating such an excellent watch! - Best wishes, Greg’’
